In January 2018, Gecko was awarded the HP PrintBeat top position by HP; this was due to the volume print output. All this meant that Gecko was number one in the world for the output of prints using the HP Indigo printing presses. This huge accolade from HP highlights the not only the quality of our work but also the resurgence in Direct Mail Marketing, in this marketing segment Gecko have led the way. Blending unique data technologies and class-leading printing-presses we drive relevancy and personalisation for our client’s communications.

Following on from this record, our Managing Director Chris Bottomley was invited to visit the HP European headquarters in Barcelona meeting with Ronen Samuel, General Manager of HP Indigo EMEA, they celebrated the success of the HP Indigo print systems and discussed how Gecko’s innovative use of data and automated workflows are used in the production process and the benefits this provides to Gecko’s clients.

Why should we care about the HP Indigo printers?

The three HP Indigo Digital printing machines that now sit pride of place in Gecko’s print facility represent over two million pounds worth of investment in world-leading technologies at Gecko.

The HP Indigo machines can deliver litho (that’s a traditional printing process) quality, outputting smooth and pin sharp prints that can be personalised to thousands of parameters. This flexibility means that Gecko can handle the most complex of print campaigns, with each print having multiple variables. Coupling these incredible printers with our unique data management technologies results in a system that can take raw inputs directly from our clients and immediately output print documents ready for dispatch by our mail partners.
