1. USE ACCURATE DATA
Everything starts with data. It’s worth taking the time to do a monthly health check and a quarterly data cleanse even if it’s just to remove the deceased.

2. UNDERSTAND YOUR CUSTOMERS
Profile the data, don’t just stop at their contact details and demographics. Review everything you have to understand their purchasing habits, interests and hobbies. If you haven’t got the data, go speak to customers or invite them into the office. This insight should drive the whole creative process.

3. BE RELEVANT
Use your customer insight to ensure your communications are relevant to your target customer. Imagery, tone of voice and messages that resonate with your audience deliver powerful results.
